The PIM2 antibody is a research tool targeting the Proviral Integration site for Moloney murine leukemia virus 2 (PIM2) kinase, a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the PIM family (PIM1. PIM2. PIM3). PIM2 plays a role in cell survival, proliferation, and apoptosis regulation by phosphorylating downstream substrates involved in signaling pathways like mTOR, STAT, and NF-κB. It is frequently overexpressed in hematologic malignancies (e.g., lymphoma, myeloma, leukemia) and certain solid tumors, where it promotes oncogenesis and therapy resistance.

PIM2 antibodies are widely used in basic and translational research to study its expression, localization, and function in cancer models, as well as its interplay with other oncogenic pathways. They enable detection via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence. Additionally, PIM2 antibodies support drug development efforts, as PIM2 is explored as a therapeutic target. Small-molecule inhibitors and monoclonal antibodies against PIM2 are under investigation to disrupt its kinase activity or block protein interactions, potentially overcoming resistance to conventional therapies. However, challenges remain in achieving tumor-specific targeting due to PIM2's structural similarity with PIM1/PIM3 and its role in normal immune cells. Research using PIM2 antibodies continues to clarify its pathophysiological roles and therapeutic potential.
