ZWINT (Zeste White 10 Interacting Protein) is a protein involved in mitotic checkpoint regulation and kinetochore assembly during cell division. Initially identified through its interaction with ZW10. a component critical for proper chromosome segregation, ZWINT plays a crucial role in maintaining genomic stability by ensuring accurate microtubule-kinetochore attachments and spindle assembly checkpoint signaling. It associates with the MIS12 complex, facilitating kinetochore recruitment of other checkpoint proteins like Zwilch and Rod.
