DUSP6 (dual-specificity phosphatase 6), also known as MKP-3 (mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphatase 3), is a member of the dual-specificity phosphatase family that regulates mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathways. It specifically dephosphorylates and inactivates extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2 (ERK1/2), critical components of the RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK cascade involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. DUSP6 acts as a negative feedback regulator, ensuring tight control of ERK activity to maintain cellular homeostasis. Dysregulation of DUSP6 expression or function has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disorders, making it a focus of therapeutic research.

Antibodies targeting DUSP6 are essential tools for studying its expression, localization, and role in signaling pathways.
