The XRN2 antibody is a crucial tool for studying the function of XRN2 (5'-3' exoribonuclease 2), a conserved eukaryotic enzyme involved in RNA processing and degradation. XRN2. a member of the XRN family, catalyzes the 5'→3' degradation of various RNA substrates, including aberrant transcripts, pre-rRNA processing byproducts, and specific non-coding RNAs. It plays a key role in transcription termination by resolving R-loop structures and promoting Pol II release, particularly at gene termini. XRN2 also participates in nuclear RNA surveillance, maintaining transcriptome integrity by eliminating improperly processed or damaged RNAs.

Antibodies targeting XRN2 are widely used in molecular biology research to investigate its localization, expression, and interactions with other factors (e.g., CPSF73 in transcription termination). These antibodies enable techniques like Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence, helping to dissect XRN2's roles in gene regulation, RNA metabolism, and genome stability.
