The NFKBIB antibody is a crucial tool for studying the NF-κB signaling pathway, which regulates immune responses, inflammation, and cell survival. NFKBIB (Nuclear Factor Kappa B Inhibitor Beta), also known as IκBβ, is a member of the IκB protein family that inhibits NF-κB transcription factors by sequestering them in the cytoplasm. Upon stimuli like cytokines or stress, IκB kinases (IKK) phosphorylate NFKBIB, leading to its ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation. This releases NF-κB dimers (e.g., p50/p65) to translocate into the nucleus and activate target genes.

Antibodies targeting NFKBIB are widely used in immunoblotting (Western blot), immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation to detect protein expression levels, subcellular localization, and interactions under varying physiological or pathological conditions.
