NFATC4 (Nuclear Factor of Activated T Cells 4), also known as NFAT3. is a member of the NFAT transcription factor family, which plays critical roles in immune response, cell differentiation, and development. These proteins are regulated by calcium-dependent calcineurin signaling, which triggers their dephosphorylation, nuclear translocation, and subsequent activation of target genes. NFATC4 is widely expressed in tissues such as the brain, heart, and skeletal muscle, where it participates in processes like cardiomyocyte hypertrophy, neuronal development, and osteoclast differentiation.
