The MAP3K4 (Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Kinase Kinase 4), also known as MEKK4. is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a critical role in cellular stress response, proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. It is part of the MAPK signaling cascade, where it activates downstream kinases like MAP2K4/7. subsequently regulating JNK and p38 pathways. MAP3K4 is involved in diverse physiological processes, including embryonic development, cell migration, and inflammatory responses. Dysregulation of MAP3K4 has been linked to cancers, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular diseases, highlighting its importance in both normal and pathological states.
