Matrix Metalloproteinase-19 (MMP19), a member of the MMP family, is a zinc-dependent endopeptidase involved in extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling and modulation of cellular microenvironments. Initially identified in the late 1990s, MMP19 is distinct from other MMPs due to its unique domain structure and substrate specificity. It is expressed in various tissues, including the liver, lungs, and skin, and plays roles in physiological processes such as tissue repair and immune regulation. Dysregulation of MMP19 has been implicated in pathological conditions like fibrosis, inflammatory diseases, and cancer, where it influences tumor progression, angiogenesis, and metastasis by processing ECM components and bioactive molecules.

MMP19 antibodies are essential tools for studying its expression, localization, and function in both normal and diseased states. These antibodies enable detection via techniques like immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, and ELISA, aiding in biomarker discovery and mechanistic research.
