Field trials demonstrate that bucket traps baited with cue-lure remain attractive to target flies for up to 8 weeks under subtropical conditions, with pure lure formulations capturing statistically equivalent numbers of males compared to 75% or 50% concentrations. This compound is commonly deployed in monitoring traps and male annihilation programs, often combined with insecticidal dispensers or solid wafer formulations for extended field longevity and ease of handling. Researchers use cue-lure to study tephritid population dynamics, evaluate trap design efficacy, and develop integrated pest management strategies for cucurbit crops.
