Dicyandiamide is White crystalline powder. The water solubility of dicyandiamide is 2.26% at 13℃. When the aqueous solution at 80℃, Dicyandiamide will gradually decomposed to ammonia. The Ethanol, ether solubility of dicyandiamide is respectively 1.26% and 0.01% at 13℃. Dicyandiamide is soluble in liquid ammonia, hot water, ethanol, acetone hydrate, dimethyl formamide, and insoluble in ether, do not dissolve in benzene and chloroform. Relative density ( d254 ) 1.40 . Melting point 209-212℃. Stable in dry air, incombustible, low toxicity, the median lethal dose (mice by mouth ) > 4000mg/kg. The maximum allowable concentration of dicyandiamide is 5 mg / m³ in the air .
