白细胞介素-12 (IL-12)是一个70 kDa(p70蛋白)的异源二聚体细胞因子，由p35 (35 kDa) α 链和p40 (40 kDa) β 链两个共价连接的亚基组成。相对于p35链，p40链被过度生产，并形成同二聚体，与IL-12受体，与具有生物活性的p70异质二聚体竞争受体占用，从而作为受体拮抗剂。IL-12主要由活化的树突状细胞(DCs)、巨噬细胞和中性粒细胞在T细胞启动过程中产生，并直接作用于其细胞毒性免疫效应细胞，包括自然杀伤(NK)细胞、自然杀伤T (NKT)细胞及CD8+ T细胞，以刺激其增殖及增加其细胞毒性功能。IL-12被广泛认为是Th1反应的重要调节因子。它还促进激活的t细胞和NK细胞的扩增和存活，并调节ctl和NK细胞的细胞毒性活性。在适应性免疫应答过程中，IL-12启动抗原特异性t细胞以产生大量IFN-g(促使它们向Th-1通路)。IL-12还可以作为体液免疫的佐剂，通过增强IgG2a和IgG2b抗体的产生。重组人IL-12是一种69-75kDa的异二聚体糖蛋白(共503个氨基酸残基)，由35 kDa (p35)和40 kDa组成(p40)由二硫键连接的亚基。

Do not reconstitute in cell culture media directly.
