Description：Colistin (Polymyxin E) 是一种多肽抗生素，具有口服活性，是由一个具有较多非天然氨基酸组成的环状多肽。Colistin 对多种革兰氏阴性杆状细菌(包括多重耐药的铜绿假单胞菌、鲍曼不动杆菌和肺炎克雷伯菌)等均有良好的抑制活性。Colistin 与肾毒性有关，可用于革兰氏阴性菌感染的研究。在相同的摩尔浓度下，化合物盐形式与游离形式有相同的生物活性，但盐形式 Colistin sulfate 通常具有更好的水溶性和稳定性。

Colistin (Polymyxin E) is a peptide antibiotic with oral activity and is a cyclic peptide composed of a large number of non natural amino acids. Colistin has good inhibitory activity against various Gram negative rod-shaped bacteria, including multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Colistin is associated with nephrotoxicity and can be used for research on Gram negative bacterial infections. At the same molar concentration, the salt form and free form of the compound have the same biological activity, but the salt form Colistin sulfonate usually has better water solubility and stability.
