Egg Laying Hormone, aplysia is a Neuropeptide synthesized by pocket cell neurons. It is a straight chain peptide composed of 36 amino acids. It triggers neurons through discharge and stimulates sea hares to lay eggs and ovulate. Egg laying hormone of Aplysia induces a voltage dependent slow inward current carried by sodium ions.
