Nitrite test kit
Background of development:
Nitrite is of high toxicity. It enables the ferrous ions in blood hemoglobin to be oxidized to ferric ions, then the ferrous ions loses the ability to combine with the oxygen, and the transport of oxygen in the body is impeded. It can bring acute poisoning to body, even brings a great danger to life when serious time.
Nitrite can lead to oxidative destruction of vitamin A and impedes the conversion of carotene into vitamin A, then cause a shortage of vitamin A in the body. At the same time, the nitrite which has entered into the intestines and stomach can easily be converted into nitrosamine when encounters the amine. Animal experiments which had been carried out proved the nitrosamine has a strong carcinogenicity.
The toxicity of the nitrite is a serious hazard to health, but the ecological environment on which human depend to survive has been suffered different degrees of pollution. Different amounts of nitrite have been found in soil, water and vegetables.
The principle of this method
This method equals to the diazo coupling method (GB/T8538-2008). The nitrite in the water is diazotized with p-aminophenyl sulfonamide, and then couples with N-(1-naphthyl)-ethylenediamine, finally generates a kind of purplish red azo-dye with which the colorimetric quantification can be done.

Quick and easy
Operating in accordance with the instructions, users can complete the nitrite test independently without specialized training. 15 minutes is enough to complete the analysis of one sample.
Accurate and reliable
Determination results with this method are in accordance with the results with the standard method. It can be used as an alternative method to the standard method.
The range of the determination: 0.01mg/L～0.5mg/L (count by nitrite radical), if the concentrations is out of the range, please repeat the operation after appropriate dilution of the sample.
Quantitative packing
The kit can be used for 50 times. It is small, light and easy to carry.
Specification
1. Fill the round sample cell with 15ml of sample.
2. Add a pack of NO2-(Ⅰ) and shake to dissolve.
3.Add a pack of NO2-(Ⅱ) 5 minutes later and shake to dissolve too.
3.After 10 minutes, observe the color visually. Put the colorimetric tube to the blank of the standard card, then lift the tube up to 1cm, observe the color in the tube from top to bottom, find out the same level in the standard card. The concentration (mg/L) of the level which has the same color as the sample shows the concentration of nitrite of the sample.
Note:
(1)Oxidants and reductants will cause interference;
(2) The presence of Cu2+, Fe2+and nitrates make the test results on the low side;
(3) Metal ions such as lead, mercury, silver and etc. will cause interference by generating precipitate.
Application areas
This product can be used in analysis of nitrite in mineral water, surface water, underground water, domestic sewage, industrial waste water and food etc.
