Demethylcantharidate (0-100 μM; 0, 12, 24, 48 or 72 hours) disodium inhibits HCC cell proliferation[1].Demethylcantharidate (0, 9, 18 or 36 μM; 24 hours) disodium dose dependently increases the levels of cleaved caspase-3, cleaved caspase-9, and Bax/Bcl-2[1].

Demethylcantharidate disodium significantly decreases hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis of SMMC-7721 cells in vivo[1].
