【英文名】Panacis Majoris Rhizoma。

【药理研究】对珠子参单体皂甙药理研究较少，根据云南产珠子参根茎总甙对小鼠的作用表明：珠子参总甙有与人参皂甙类型的免疫作用，能提高小鼠血中碳廓清率和激活腹腔巨噬细胞的吞噬活性，具有扶正固本的作用，并且毒性低，刺激性及溶血作用均很弱。动物实验表明，珠子参有提高机体免疫功能的作用，此外还有镇痛、镇静、抗脂质过氧化、抗溃疡等作用。

【主要成分】含多种皂苷，如以竹节人参皂苷等为代表的齐墩果烷型的皂苷；以人参皂苷等为代表的达玛烷型皂苷以珠子参苷为代表的奥寇梯木型皂苷等。又含琥珀酸，糖蛋白ZP-2，系由葡萄糖，甘露糖，岩藻糖，木糖，半乳糖，鼠李糖和糖醛酸所组成。
