蛹虫草（Cordyceps militaris）为虫草属真菌，可人工规模化栽培，其特有成分虫草素（Cordycepin，3′-脱氧腺苷）是区分蛹虫草与野生冬虫夏草的重要标志。上禾以人工栽培蛹虫草子实体为原料，经水提、醇沉与柱层析纯化，虫草素含量可覆盖 1%–98%，并可按需复配虫草多糖与腺苷。

Cordyceps militaris is a cultivable Cordyceps species whose signature compound, cordycepin (3’-deoxyadenosine), distinguishes it from wild Ophiocordyceps sinensis. Staherb uses cultivated fruiting bodies, processed by water extraction, ethanol precipitation and column chromatography, to deliver cordycepin from 1% to 98%, with cordyceps polysaccharides and adenosine available as co-markers.
