First Aid Measures

Ingestion
If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid if irritation or symptoms occur.
Inhalation
Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid if cough or other symptoms appear.
Skin
Get medical aid if irritation develops or persists. Flush skin with plenty of soap and water.
Eyes
Flush with water; consult a physician.

Handling and Storage

Storage
Do not store near combustible materials. Store in a cool, dry place. Keep containers tightly closed. Keep away from strong bases.
Handling
Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Use with adequate ventilation. Do not get on skin and clothing. Do not ingest or inhale. Keep away from clothing and other combustible materials. Discard contaminated shoes.

Hazards Identification

Ingestion
May cause severe digestive tract irritation with abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. May be harmful if swallowed.
Inhalation
May cause respiratory tract irritation.
Skin
May cause skin irritation.

Exposure Controls/Personal Protection

Personal Protection
Filter mask may be required. Intense heat or flame will necessitate use of self-contained breathing device.
Respirators
A respiratory protection program that meets OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.134 and ANSI Z88.2 requirements or European Standard EN 149 must be followed whenever workplace conditions warrant a respirator's use.
Poison Class
3

Fire Fighting Measures

Fire Fighting
Flood with water. Cool all affected containers with flooding quantities of water. Apply water from as far a distance as possible.
Fire Potential
These substances will accelerate burning when involved in a fire.

Accidental Release Measures

Small spills/leaks
Clean up spills immediately, using the appropriate protective equipment. Sweep up or absorb material, then place into a suitable clean, dry, closed container for disposal.

Stability and Reactivity

Stability
Stable under normal temperatures and pressures.
Incompatibilities
Strong reducing agents, carbon, copper, metal sulfides, organic matter, phosphorus, sulfur.
Decomposition
Nitrogen oxides, nitrogen, toxic fumes of zinc oxide.
Combustion Products
Toxic oxides of nitrogen may form in fire.
