First Aid Measures

Ingestion
Seek medical assistance.
Inhalation
Move victim to fresh air. Apply artificial respiration if victim is not breathing. Do not use mouth-to-mouth method if victim ingested or inhaled the substance; induce artificial respiration with the aid of a pocket mask equipped with a one-way valve or other proper respiratory medical device. Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult.
Skin
Remove contaminated clothing and wash exposed area thoroughly with soap and water. A physician should examine the area if irritation or pain persists.
Eyes
Irrigate exposed eyes with copious amounts of tepid water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation, pain, swelling, lacrimation, or photophobia persist, the patient should be seen in a health care facility.

Handling and Storage

Storage
Store in cool, dry place. Store product in original container only.
Handling
All chemicals should be considered hazardous. Avoid direct physical contact. Use appropriate, approved safety equipment. Untrained individuals should not handle this chemical or its container. Handling should occur in a chemical fume hood.

Hazards Identification

Inhalation
Highly toxic, may be fatal if inhaled, swallowed or absorbed through skin. Effects of contact or inhalation may be delayed.
Skin
Avoid any skin contact. See Inhalation.
Eyes
See Inhalation.

Exposure Controls/Personal Protection

Personal Protection
The use of personal protective equipment such as glasses, synthetic gloves and NIOSH approved breathing apparatus is important.
Respirators
Wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
Exposure Effects
Coma was reported following ingestion of an herbicide containing atrazine, aminotriazole, ethylene glycol, and formaldehyde. Muscle tremors, tetany, and ataxia have been reported in animals following ingestions of triazine herbicides.
Poison Class
4

Fire Fighting Measures

Fire Fighting
Extinguish fire using agent suitable for type of surrounding fire. Use water in flooding quantities as fog. Use alcohol foam. Wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus when fighting fires involving this material. Keep upwind.
Fire Potential
Nonflammable.

Accidental Release Measures

Small spills/leaks
Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Stop leak if you can do it without risk. Cover with plastic sheet to prevent spreading. Absorb or cover with dry earth, sand or other non-combustible material and transfer to containers. DO NOT GET WATER INSIDE CONTAINERS.

Stability and Reactivity

Incompatibilities
Incompatible with acids, diazo and azo compounds, halocarbons, isocyanates, aldehydes, alkali metals, nitrides, hydrides, and other strong reducing agents Reactions with these materials generate heat and in many cases hydrogen gas Incompatible with isocyanates, halogenated organics, peroxides, phenols (acidic), epoxides, anhydrides, and acid halides Flammable gaseous hydrogen is generated in combination with strong reducing agents, such as hydrides.
Stability
Very stable over several yr of shelf life and only slight sensitivity to natural light and extreme temperatures. Evik 80w has a shelf life of at least 5 yr when stored in a dry place.
Combustion Products
Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases.
