Pharmacological action:
Local anesthesia is stronger than procaine and 10 times greater than procaine. It is also more toxic, 10-12 times more toxic than procaine. Can penetrate the mucosa, mainly used in mucosal anesthesia. The effect is rapid, and takes effect in 1 to 3 minutes. For 2-3 hours. Ophthalmology with 0.5% ~ 1% solution, no corneal injury and other serious adverse reactions. The nose and throat department uses 1% to 2% solution, the total amount shall not exceed 20ml. 1 drop of 0.1% epinephrine hydrochloride solution should be added to every 3ml. Infiltration anesthesia with 0.025% to 0.03% solution, nerve block with 0.1% to 0.3% solution. During lumbar anesthesia, 10 to 15mg is mixed with cerebrospinal fluid and injected. Epidural anesthesia with 0.15% to 0.3% solution, and lidocaine combined with the highest concentration of 0.3%. Infiltration anesthesia is generally not done because of its toxicity. Maximum dose: infiltration anesthesia, nerve block, 0.1g once.
Application:
The effect strength of local anesthesia is 10 times that of procaine, and the effect can be maintained for 2 ~ 3h, with strong penetration. It is mainly used for surface anesthesia of the eyes, nose, throat and urinary tract. After absorption, it can cause convulsions and then turn into respiratory depression, and is generally not used as anesthesia such as infiltration and conduction.
Matters needing attention:
Occasionally, rashes, tremors, vomiting and even shock may occur. Large doses can cause inhibition of cardiac conduction system and central nervous system. Do not inject into blood vessels by mistake.
