Rubidium hydroxide (RbOH), a strong base, more basic than potassium hydroxide. It is composed of rubidium ions and hydroxide ions in a 1:1 ratio of the amount of matter. Rubidium hydroxide is highly corrosive, so wear appropriate protective clothing, gloves, and safety glasses when using it.
Production method
1. It can be precipitated by the interaction of rubidium sulfate and barium hydroxide, and filtered into the mother liquor containing rubidium hydroxide, which is obtained by evaporation, concentration, crystallization and drying.
2. Rubidium sulfate is reacted with equimolar barium hydroxide to produce rubidium hydroxide. Rubidium sulfate reacts with an aqueous solution of barium hydroxide. After the reaction is completed, the filtrate is filtered and placed in a platinum dish. The filtrate is evaporated and concentrated in a vacuum evaporator equipped with solid potassium hydroxide. It is then placed in a silver boat in dry hydrogen (without C
O2) The water is gradually heated to 300℃ in the stream to remove the water. Store tightly. Rubidium hydroxide can also be obtained by electrolysis with rubidium chloride.
