Pyrene, also known as embedded dinaphthalene, is one of the products of coal tar processing, the content of coal tar is about 0.6 ~ 1.2%, mainly concentrated in dianthracene oil distillate. Pyrene is a solid aromatic compound whose molecule consists of four connected benzene rings. Pyrene has a molecular formula of C16H10, a molecular weight of 202.26, a melting point of 150℃, a boiling point of 393℃, and a density of 1.277g/cm3. Pyrene is light yellow monocline crystal, insoluble in water, soluble in benzene, toluene, carbon disulfide, ether and other organic solvents. Pyrene is a carcinogen that is converted to mutagenic 1-nitropyrene under the action of nitrogen dioxide. The 1 and 6 positions of pyrene molecules are easy to react with electrophilic reagents, and can also react with oxidation and hydrogenation. Pyrene can also undergo substitution reactions such as halogenation, nitration and sulfonation in Chemicalbook. The first substitution is 3-site, the second substitution is 3,10 - and 3, 8-site, and the third and 10-site is more. When oxidized, 3, 10-pyrene quinone and 3, 8-pyrene quinone are obtained, which are further oxidized to 1, 4, 5, 8-naphthalenetetracarboxylic acid. Pyrene can be used in the production of dyes, such as Yindanshilin dye and anthraquinone VAT dye. The extraction method of pyrene is: using the residual oil or asphalt distillate oil produced during the distillation of dianthracene oil as the raw material, reducing pressure rectification, cutting about 40% of the fraction containing pyrene at 390 ~ 400℃, and then mixing the solvent with 25% coal tar solvent oil and 75% ethanol (the ratio of the solvent to the pyrene fraction is 1:12), recrystallization several times until the product is qualified.
