PEG 4000 is thermally stable under anaerobic conditions.
Handling and storage
Handling
a) PEG 4000 should be kept tightly sealed in its original sealed packaging in a dry place. The storage room must not be overheated.
b) PEG 4000 is hygroscopic and needs to be protected from moisture. Packaging must be resealed each time it is opened.
c) PEG 4000 should be stored in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. It should be protected from sunlight.
d) 1 ton bags shall not be stacked during storage to prevent clumping due to weight compaction.

Shelf life
PEG 4000 has a shelf life of at least two years in its original packaging, provided it is stored properly and the packaging is tightly sealed.
Packing materials
The following materials can be used to store PEG 4000:
a) Stainless steel 1.4541-AISI 321 (X6 CrNiTi 18-10)
b) Stainless steel 1.4571-AISI 316 Ti (X6 CrNiMoTi 17-12-2)
c) Stainless steel 1.4306-AISI 304 L (X2 CrNi 19-11)
d) Polyethylene (HDPE/LDPE)
Security and labeling
To the best of our knowledge, use of PEG 4000 for its intended use and handling in accordance with current practice will have no adverse effects.
Based on the experience we have gained over the years and other information at our disposal, PEG 4000 will be no harmful effects on health, provided it is used properly, due attention is paid to the precautions required to handle the chemicals, and the information and recommendations provided in our safety data sheets are followed.
