Mazdutide is a dual agonist of the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor and the glucagon receptor. It is an analog of oxyntomodulin (OXM) and is developed by Innovent Biologics under a licensing agreement with Eli Lilly and Company 

Functions and Uses:

1. Weight Loss:

• Mazdutide promotes weight loss by activating both GLP-1 and glucagon receptors. This dual activation helps to reduce appetite, slow stomach emptying (enhancing satiety), and increase energy expenditure 

• Clinical trials have shown significant weight reduction in participants. For example, those receiving higher doses of mazdutide experienced up to 18.6% weight loss compared to placebo
