Pharmacodynamics
This product belongs to the imidazole class of nematodes and is active against most nematodes of cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs and chickens. The mechanism of its repellent action is to excite parasympathetic and sympathetic ganglia of worms, which shows nicotinoid effect. At high concentrations, leimidazole interferes with sugar metabolism of nematodes by blocking fumaric acid reduction and succinic acid oxidation, and finally paralyzes worms and causes them to be expelled. In addition to its repellent activity, this product can also significantly improve the immune response. It can restore the cell-mediated immune function of peripheral T lymphocytes and stimulate the phagocytosis of monocytes, especially in animals with impaired immune function.
Pharmacokinetics
This product can be taken orally from the gastrointestinal tract, after absorption can be distributed throughout the body, most of the metabolites are metabolized in the liver and kidney, the metabolites are mainly excreted in the urine, less than 6% in the original form of excretion, a small amount of excretion in the stool. The plasma half-life is 4 to 6 hours in cattle, 3 to 4 hours in sheep, 3.5 to 6.8 hours in pigs, and 1.8 to 4 hours in pigs.
