Pharmacological action Laroxefin sodium is a semi-synthetic oxefene antibiotic. Its basic structure is similar to that of cephalomycin group, only the 1 S of the parent nucleus is replaced by O. The product has broad spectrum, bactericidal effect, and antibacterial effect is similar to the third generation cephalosporin. The antibacterial profile was similar to cefotaxime. It has good antibacterial activity against a variety of gram-negative bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella, Proteus, Enterobacter, Citrobacter, and Fulminella sarchemicalbook. It has good antibacterial activity against anaerobic bacteria such as Bacteroides fragilis. The antibacterial action against acinetobacter and pseudomonas was worse than aminoglycoside drugs or piperacillin. It is sensitive to both zymogenic and non-zymogenic gonococci, and its antibacterial activity is similar to cefoperazone, worse than cefotaxime, resistant to enterococcus, and generally weak against gram-positive bacteria. This product has strong stability to β-lactamase, so bacteria are not easy to develop resistance to this product.
