Griseofulvin, chemical name is (2S,6'R)-7-chloro-2',4,6-trimethoxy-6'-methyl-3H,4'H-spiro[1-benzofuran -2,1'-Cyclohexatrieno[2]ene]-3,4'-dione, chemical formula C17H17ClO6, is an oral antifungal drug. Griseofulvin is an antibiotics which is extracted from the cultivation of the fermented liquid of the Penicilli - um griseofulvum. White or almost white powder; melting point : 218-224°C; Soluble in tetrachloroethane, slightly soluble in ethanol, very slightly soluble in water. Odourless or almost odourless, taste bitter, on the thermal stability.Clinically, it is mainly used for tinea capitis, severe tinea corporis, tinea imbricates, onychomycosis of hands and feet, etc., and has obvious curative effect on tinea capitis.
