Ethyl 2-oxocyclopentanecarboxylate

It can be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate or spice additive. It can be used as an intermediate in pharmaceutical synthesis and organic synthesis, and can be used in the synthesis of spice, or loxoprofen.  

This product is obtained by cyclization of diethyl adipate in toluene in the presence of sodium.

The reaction temperature is 100-115°C, the reaction time is 5h, and the yield is 74-81%.
