Erucic acid amide is one of the important derivatives of erucic acid, which is refined from vegetable oil. It is a waxy solid without odor, insoluble in water, and has certain solubility in organic fluxes such as ketone, ester, alcohol, ether and benzene. Because the molecular structure contains a long unsaturated C22 chain and polar amine group, so that it has excellent surface polarity, high melting point and good thermal stability, can replace other similar additives widely used in plastics, rubber, printing, machinery and other industries. As a processing aid for plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene, it not only makes the products do not bond, increase lubricity, but also enhances the thermal plasticness and heat resistance of plastics, and the products are non-toxic, which has been allowed to be used in food packaging materials abroad. Combining erucic acid amide into rubber can improve the gloss, tensile strength and elongation of rubber products, enhance the vulcanization promotion and abrasion resistance, especially the effect of preventing sun cracking. Adding to the ink can increase the adhesion, abrasion resistance, offset resistance and dye solubility of the printing ink. In addition, erucic acid amide can also be used as a surface polishing agent for waxed paper, a protective film for metals and a foam stabilizer for detergents.
