Compared with its lead compound abamectin, emamectin has lower toxicity, and its toxicity to rats is only 1/6 of that of abamectin. It is safe for humans and animals under conventional dosage and easy to degrade. At present, emamectin/avermectin is often used to control vegetable pests, such as diamonds moth, beet moth, and Calyptoplast moth.
