Mainly used for heavy detergent. It dissolves and couples oils and lipids extremely well for use in domestic and industrial formulations. Partially water soluble, soluble in most solvents. The evaporation rate is similar to ethylene glycol butyl ether, which is a very good substitute for the latter. It is often shared with other propylene glycol ethers such as dipropylene glycol methyl ether, propylene glycol n-propyl ether, or dipropylene glycol n-propyl ether. The specific applications are as follows :① household and industrial cleaners, grease paint remover, metal cleaners and hard surface cleaners coupling agent and solvent; ② Effective coupling agent and solvent of water-reducing coating; (3) Effective coagulant for water-based latex coatings; ④ Active solvent for solvent-based coatings; ⑤ Production of esters, solvents, plasticizers of chemical intermediates.
