1. Effect on digestive system: The rats were given 10mL/kg of Xylocarum 25% decoction (0.25g crude drug /mL), the results showed that the relative residual rate of pigment in the stomach of the rats was significantly reduced, and the intestinal propulsion ratio was significantly increased, indicating that xylocarum can promote gastric empting and intestinal propulsion. The results showed that 10, 40g/kg of Xyloxiang decoction had no effect on the concentration of gastric acid and serum gastrin, but could promote the secretion of somatostatin. Xylem can accelerate the gastric emptying of barium and promote the release of endogenous motilin. It has no effect on the basic gastric electric rhythm of normal people. 2. Effect on the cardiovascular system: Woody incense and its extracts have a pressor effect, while the alkaloids, lactones and de-lactone volatile oils contained in it have a pressor effect. Xylocarpus excites the cat's heart with a mild pressor response. Intravenous injection of water extract to anesthetized dogs had a mild hypertensive effect. Intravenous injection of delactone volatile oil, total lactone, codenolactone, dihydrocodenolactone, dehydrocodenolactone or 12-methoxy-dihydrocodenolactone can reduce blood pressure in anesthetised dogs. The antihypertensive effect lasts at least 15mi, and the effective time of delactone volatile oil can reach 1h. The effect of 12-methoxydihydrocogenolide was stronger. Cervical spinal cord amputation, bilateral vagus nerve amputation, atropinization, ganglion blocking drugs, antiadrenergic drugs, or antihistamines did not change the above antihypertensive response, indicating that the site of action is mainly peripheral, that is, associated with cardiac inhibition and vasodilation. 3. Effects on respiratory system: isolated trachea and lung perfusion experiments of guinea pigs showed that water extract, alcohol extract, volatile oil, total alkaloids, as well as total lactone and de-lactone volatile oil contained in volatile oil had counter-effects on bronchoconstriction caused by histamine, acetylcholine and barium chloride. Intraperitoneal injection of total lactone or de-lactone volatile oil had a protective effect on the inhaled lethal dose of histamine or acetylcholine aerosol in guinea pigs, and could prolong the asthmatic-induced latency and reduce the mortality, indicating that it could directly dilate bronchial smooth muscle, similar to papaverine. 4. Antibacterial action: the concentration of volatile oil 1∶3000 can inhibit the growth of streptococcus, aureus and staphylococcus alba, and the effect on Escherichia coli and diphtheria bacillus is weak; Total alkaloids have no antibacterial effect.
