| In vivo | Bacitracin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against a variety of organisms including Gram-positive cocci, staphylococci, streptococci, bacilli, Treponema pallidum (syphilis spirochete), Fusobacterium nucleatum, Actinomyces israelii, anaerobic cocci, clostridia, Neisseria, most strains of gonococci, and meningococci. Bacitracin also inhibits purified glutathione-insulin transhydrogenase. |
