Anastrozole – Product Overview

Definition:
Anastrozole is a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor used primarily in the treatment of breast cancer. It works by blocking the enzyme aromatase, which is responsible for converting androgens into estrogens in the body.

Function:
Anastrozole works by lowering estrogen levels, which helps prevent estrogen-dependent tumors, such as certain types of breast cancer, from growing. It is most effective in postmenopausal women whose breast cancer is hormone receptor-positive.

Applications:
Anastrozole is commonly used in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
