English name:Magnesium chloride
CAS: 7786-30-3
EINECS number: 232-094-6
Molecular formula: Cl2Mg
MDL number: MFCD00149782

Appearance properties: colorless hexagonal crystal, easy delixing.
Appearance: Colorless, odorless small pieces, particles, blocky monoclinic crystal system, bitter taste. There are two kinds of salt, dihydrate and hexahydrate. The dihydrate salts are small white absorbent particles. Anhydrous salts are colorless deliquing flakes or crystals. At room temperature, it is a hexahydrate salt, the water content can change with the temperature, and 2 molecules of crystal water are lost at 100℃, and part of hydrochloric acid gas is released at 110℃, and it is decomposed into oxygen-containing magnesium chloride at high temperature. The relative density is 1.569 and the aqueous solution is neutral (pH is 7.0). It absorbs moisture very well. Highly soluble in water (160g/100ml, 20℃), soluble in ethanol.
Anhydrous magnesium chloride is colorless hexagonal crystal with a relative density of 2.177 and a melting point of 708℃.
