Characteristics
Rubber accelerator MBT(M) is bitter and non-toxic, and its relative density is 1.46~1.52. It is insoluble in water and gasoline, well soluble in ethyl acetate and acetone, and soluble in dichloromethane, ethyl ether and chloroform etc. organic solvent and in alkali and carbonate solution.
Applications
It is ageneral rubber accelerator, and widely used in kinds of rubbers. It is a fast-speed accelerator for NR and synthetic rubber vulcanized by sulfur, and plateau of vulcanizing curves is long. It is also vulcanization retardant and scorch retardant in CR and sulfuration system without sulfur, plasticizer in NR. Mainly used for tyres, rubber shoes and other rubber articles, also white or light products. It is not used for rubber articles in contact with food and oral cavity because of its bitter flavor. It has good dispersion in rubber compounds and won’t produce pollution in rubber products. Generally, as main accelerator, the use level is 1.0~2.0, and as the second accelerator, it is 0.2~0.5. MBT is regulated for use in articles in contact with food as specified under FDA regulation and under BgVV regulation.
Packaging Coextruded paper bags lined with plastic film, net weight 25Kg/bag.
Storage Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from sunlight.
Safety and toxicity Refer to the MSDS.
