Isoprenol, also known as 3-methyl-3-butene-1-ol, is a hemiterpene alcohol. It is used industrially as an intermediate in the production of 3-methyl-2-butene-1-ol (isopentenol, Prenol) : global production in 2001 can be estimated at 6,000-13,000 tonnes.
