2,4,6-Trichlorobenzoic
acid |
2,4,6-Trichlorobenzoic acid is a trifluoroacetic acid that has been used as a solvent in vitro assays and as a carbon source for kinetic studies. It has also been shown to be an effective inhibitor of bacterial growth when tested with dextrans. 2,4,6-Trichlorobenzoic acid is toxic to cells in culture and can inhibit fatty acid synthesis by inhibiting the activity of fatty acid synthase. 2,4,6-Trichlorobenzoic acid has also been found to have anti-inflammatory properties and may be useful for the treatment of asthma.
