This series of fluorescent microspheres is fabricated by encapsulating aggregation-induced emission (AIE) molecules in polystyrene. These AIE molecules are incorporated within the microspheres. Thanks to the characteristics of aggregation-induced emission, no fluorescence quenching effect occurs during aggregation. This leads to a significant improvement in the fluorescence efficiency of the AIE molecules, with an absolute quantum yield of over 90%. Additionally, the polystyrene coating effectively shields the AIE molecules from external influences, thereby greatly enhancing fluorescence stability and ensuring a long-lasting fluorescence effect. At the same time, according to the specific applications of the products, we have prepared microspheres with different particle sizes, different emission colors and a variety of functional groups to meet the diversified needs of customers.
