Methylenesuccinic acid (methylenesuccinicacid) is a compound used in organic synthesis. It is obtained by submerged fermentation of Aspergillus terreus. It is colorless, odorless, and hygroscopic crystals. Low toxicity, but its vapor is toxic. It is easy to polymerize and can also be copolymerized with other monomers. The substance may be hazardous to the environment and special attention should be given to water bodies.
