Preparation:
Firstly, peroxydecanuclear molybdate was prepared by aqueous solution as catalyst, and its composition and structure were characterized by infrared, thermogravimetric, X-ray single crystal diffraction and elemental analysis. In the substance, the anion part has a centrosymmetric structure, and the cation is free in the periphery of the polyanion. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that the polyanion of the compound had good thermal stability, and electrospray mass spectrometry found that the compound was prone to dissociation when it was unstable in the liquid phase. The abundant fragment ion [Mo4O13]2- was the most stable in the liquid phase, and may be an active intermediate in the catalytic oxidation reaction. The catalytic activity of the compound for the oxidation of methyl phenyl sulfide was studied. The results showed that benzothioether was selectively oxidized to sulfoxide under the following catalytic conditions: catalyst 180mg, hydrogen peroxide 5mL, reflux 5h at room temperature, the yield of sulfoxide reached 84.28%, indicating that the compound had high catalytic activity and selectivity for the oxidation of benzothioether.
