Ticagor is a novel antiplatelet agglutination agent successfully developed by AstraZeneca. It is the world's first reversible binding oral antagonist of P2Y12 adenosine diphosphate receptor. The drug reversibly acts on purine 2 receptor (P2) subtype P2Y12 on vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC), does not require metabolic activation, has a significant inhibitory effect on adenosine diphosphate (ADP) -induced platelet aggregation, and can effectively improve the symptoms of patients with acute coronary heart disease after oral administration. Unlike thiopheno pyridines, ticagrelor is a reversible inhibitor of the P2Y12 receptor, so it is particularly suitable for patients who require surgery following prior anticoagulant therapy.
