Therapy of acne vulgaris must be idividualized and frequenty mdifted depending on the types of acne esins which predominate and the response to therapy Topical aninfectves, including clindamycin, generally are efecive in the treatment of mild to moderate inlammatory acne. However, use of topical aninfetives as monotherapy may lead to baterial resitance; this resistance is ascated with decreased cinial eficacy Topial cindamycin is particularly useful when used with benzoyl peroxide or topical rtinoids Resuts of cinical studies indicate that combination therapy results in a reduction in total lesion counts of 50-70%.
