1-hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone is a kind of efficient free radical non-yellowing photoinitiator, which is also one of the most commonly used initiators in UV curing system. Because of its good non-yellowing, it can be used for UV polymerization of monofunctive or polyfunctional acrylate monomers and oligomers, and can also be used for varnish, plastic coatings, wood coatings, adhesives, lithographic printing inks, screen printing inks, flexo printing inks, electronic products, even if the cured coating is exposed to sunlight for a long time, because of its photolysis without benzyl generation. The degree of yellowing is also very small, so it is particularly suitable for paints and inks with high yellowing requirements. Its photolysis products include benzaldehyde and cyclohexanone, which have a certain odor after film formation. The application in the surface curing system with TPO has a good effect, and the recommended dosage is 2-5w/w. Yellowing of acrylic/polyurethane systems in outdoor use can be effectively reduced by adding other additives.
