3β-Acetoxychol-5-enoic Acid is an intermediate in the synthesis of TopFluor Cholesterol (T540330). TopFluor Cholesterol forms a complex with other lipid molecules during its macroscopic diffusion in giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs) lipid bilayers at room temperature. It is also a new cholesterol probe with superior fluorescence properties. TopFluor Cholesterol is the derivative of Cholesterol (C432501), which is the principal sterol of the higher animals and found in all body tissues, especially in the brain, spinal cord, and in animal fats and oil.
