NBD-PE [N-(7-Nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl)-1,2-dihexadecanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolaMine, triethylaMMoniuM salt]

NBD-PE is a fluorescent label for lysosomal lipid bodies. It consists of a single tail (16:0) phospholipid derivative with an NBD fluorophore conjugated to the head group. NBD-PE can be used to quantitatively measure phospholipidosis, which is useful to screen drugs for SARS-CoV-2 repurposing. NBD-PE can also be used to label giant unilamellar vesicles (GUV).
