(20S)-3α-(Dimethylamino)-20-hydroxypregn-5-en-18-oic acid γ-lactone

A steroidal alkaloid of the pregnane type, this base is isolated from Kibatalia gitingensis Woods. It forms colourless prisms from hexane and has [α]²⁹_Dn - 42° (c 1.4, CHCI3). The alkaloid contains two methyl and a dimethylamino group in the molecule.
