Preterramide C is a fungal metabolite that has been found in A. terreus.1 It is active against S. aureus (MIC = 52.4 μM) but not E. aerogenes, P. aeruginosa, or C. albicans (MICs = >100 μM for all).2 Preterramide C inhibits the growth of L5178Y mouse lymphoma cells with an IC50 value of 0.1 μg/ml.3 It also inhibits nitric oxide (NO) production induced by LPS in RAW 264.7 cells (IC50 = 5.48 μM).
