Hexanoic--d5 Acid

Hexanoic acid-d5 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of hexanoic acid by GC- or LC-MS. Hexanoic acid is a short-chain saturated fatty acid that has been found in various animal fats used in biodiesel production.

Hexanoic Acid-d5 is the labeled analogue of 1-Hexanoic Acid (H292145), a colorless oily liquid with an odor that is fatty, cheesy, waxy, and like that of goats. Its esters can be used as artificial flavors. It is also one of the components of vanilla.
