Naltrexone might be useful in determining if adverse behaviors
(e.g., self-mutilating or tail-chasing) in dogs or cats have a significant
endorphin component. Its relative expense and other more accepted
treatments have largely supplanted the use of this drug in
animals for treatment of behavioral disorders.
